My name is Kathleen and I live and work in the green north of Antwerpen, only 150 meters away from a very nice forested area.
Next to our home is my work studio Forest Roots where I run:
- a service for Natural dreadlocks: Forest Roots Fairy Locks,
- a studio for handmade accessoiries: Forest Roots Crafts,
- a herbalism production atelier: Botanical Alchemy
- a personal coaching service: To the roots
- a natural concept webshop In the woods with a focus on organic, eco conscious and fair traded items that support a reconnected lifestyle.
I sometimes work on some very nice free spirited festivals, conscious events or artistic markets around Europe.
I update about these events and markets on my socials.

Private studio for the creation of natural hair dreadlocks, real dreadlocks extensions, maintenance and restorations.

Tiny crafts studio where I create hand felted wool dreadlocks sets, wool silk scarfs, hairwraps, jewelry and more.
I am also specialising in natural Plant dyes.

🌿 Botanial Alchemy Herbalism atelier
Herbalism atelier with own recipe herbal tea infusions, bath salts and herbal potions for magic and rituals. You can order these here.
In 2026 I will also offer Herbalism workshops in Schilde (north of Antwerp).
These will be offered in Dutch or English and you'll go home with your own products and lots of inspiration.
Whenever the weather allows for it we will combine the workshop with a beautifull walk in Nature.
In 2027 I will also offer personal herbalism consults.

Individual coaching sessions for entrepeneurs and also personal coaching about different life themes.
This takes place in the Forest Roots studio or outside while walking in the surrounding nature.

At In The Woods you will find organic, eco conscious and fair traded products for a natural lifestyle. You'll find organic wool basics, organic cotton and linen clothing, wooden toys, low-waste reusable products, non toxic care products and accessoires for Dreadlocks, organic personal care, products for women health, supplements, all natural incense, crystals, gipsy and dark art jewelry, books and much more.
And also my own production of herbal tisanes from Botanical Alchemy.

🌿 Previous
I was educated in Special youthcare and Orthopedagogy followed by a few aditional therapist trainings.
For about nine years I've worked as a counselor and social worker with people with all kinds of psychologic difficulties, from teaching to psychiatric care and everything in between. On the side I've worked as an independent photographer and I also did many years of artistic photography modelling. In my free time I used to create glass art and I was also learning to play violin. Both were at that time no longer combinable when I became a Mother.
At that time I also left the social work sector and started my own natural health shop with all organic food, health supplements and so on. I've later on transformed this shop into my webshop In the woods.
That's also when I've started with the Forest Roots Dreadlocks service.
A couple of years later I began to study different courses of Herbalism and Magic.

🌿 Current
For now my personal focus is on learning about Permaculture gardening while step by step building a Food Forest at our home place called Project 9 . At this moment I'm doing a three-year study to become a licensed Herbalist so I can deepen my knowledge in preparing herbal medicinal tinctures and also make more plant dyes for the crafts atelier. Herbalism and Magic will be playing an increasingly important part in my work company Dandelion.
